The Europa has a fantastic location. The room was too small for my liking.

It was centrally located. Entrance lobby with fire very welcoming. Staff efficient and courteous. A few minor problems were dealt with instantly. Beds were very comfortable. On the minus side: lighting in the bedroom was poor which made hair drying difficult. The bath screen was rather short which meant the floor was unavoidably splashed and rendered the room uncomfortable for the second user! A little more shelf space for toiletries etc would be welcome in the bathroom also. The Causerie restaurant is to be avoided. We reserved a table and were presented with a very poor meal which one member of the party could not attempt to eat. At no time did any member of the waiting staff ask if we were satisfied. Breakfast, however, was excellent, and served with efficient courtesy. The piano bar also is a welcome, peaceful haven.

The Bourbon restaurant, just across the road is a wonderful place to dine in the evening--excellent food and efficient friendly and attentive staff. We also enjoyed the sightseeing bus tour which gave not just the birds-eye view of the city but also the history of its economy, politics etc

The hotel was beautiful, However the lady on reception was not very friendly when checking us in and did not provide a good level of customer service, disappointing with a hotel of its kind. Also had problems with ordering things to the room - they either didn't arrive at all or we had to keep asking.

Definitly go to SKY BAR. Does really nice affordable food, perfect with the window seat!
Do not go to the Northern Wig Pub.
